    Pump-action shotguns were not originally the main line of the Beretta, as their popularity in Europe was very small. Their development was originally intended for export to the United States, and originated as a sideline of semi-automatic shotguns. The first model was the RS-151, introduced around 1960. It was subsequently replaced by the RS-200 in 1967; in 1980, a RS-200 P variant was introduced, designed specifically for police purposes.
